lol! Sorry, I just had to do that. Anyway, here's my front cover/first page/D-study for *AlaskanExile's Demons and Angels Chapter 1-fanfic. Basically this is fanart of a fanfic! YAY! I read her story, which is excellent in my opinion (you should read it!), adn it inspired me to do some art for it.

I'm pretty happy with the outcome even thought the process of making it was slightly more troublesome than it should have been. I was trying out a new technique which didn't quite work even though it did give this deviation a slightly more "hand-drawn"-look.

What I did:

First I drew the lineart, which you can find in my scraps here! I must have drawn D about ten times before I ended up with the image that you see before you. I drew one picture, picked out the parts I liked and tried to not draw the one I didn't (times ten). I finally got so mad at not being able to draw D like I wanted that I decided it was now or never. As a comprimize to *AlaskanExile for waiting so long, I drew D hardly shielded by his cape at all to give the fangirls something to drool over.

Then, after waiting a few days, I drew the shadows on a copy of my lineart. You can find it here! What I did was to outline the areas that were going to be shadow and then extract them in Photoshop Elements with the magic wand. They gave the shadows the shapes I wanted thought I had to even that lineart up with the previous one. Tiresome. So what did I learn? Do it all in one go the next time even though the lineart will look very weird.

Then I coloured it in Photoshop Elements 2... No, I don't have a tablet... This is all done by mouse and uttilizing the filters and whatever else I can use in the program... Sorry for the loads of shiny-shine-shine I've used. I got a little bit carried away. Meaning was to have it as close to the Bloodlust look as possible...

Time used:
-Ages on the lineart. I don't know how many hours
-5 hours(ish) on the colouring? I didn't keep track really, but it went fairly quickly...

I should probably tell you that I drew the skull completely by mouse on the computer... lol! I'm bragging, I know...

[UPDATE:] I would have thought that this deviation would have been more popular than my Forever Alone but it's not. Perhaps it has to do with the writing all over it? Alas, I have removed it!
