Hello people of dA!

So yeah, I just randomly decided to log in again, and lo and behold, I have been a member here for ten years. Ten years. TEN FRIKCEN YEARS! It is amazing, though granted, I have been pretty inactive quite a long time.

But I hope that will change. I need to be more creative with my life, so hopefully you guys will kick my ass out of boredom and into the splendid stupendous fantasy that is creativity!

Oh, and just a little link to my very first journal: misteringo.deviantart.com/jour…

Ciao! :D

People of dA!

Yeah, I'm back... You'd never think it, would you? Truth be told, neither would I, as LifeTM has been so bloody busy...

But I need to vent. I need to get creative. I need an outlet and you sorry procastrinating deviants out there are on the receiving end! I need inspiration and you're going to give it to me!

It's funny, but the more I want to be creative, the less I get to do. I've got 8 ideas for children's books, and I'm not being full of myself when I say they're good ones too! So good I won't share them right now, but I will need your help with sketches and whatnot in a few weeks time... Three of the ideas have gotten me really excited as well, and I can't wait to get the energy to make them!

That's the main problem though, and one of the reasons I haven't been on dA that much of late (i.e. the past year or two). I just don't feel that I've got energy to do anything, and there have been other issues that have taxed me. Suffice to say that any bastard that sings that love lifts one up where I belong can go ride a landmine.

Anyway! How about a contest? Of course my wholeheartedly evil intention with this contest is for you lot to inspire me, and create something that I can rip of and claim my own (well, not really)!!! :evillaugh:

I want you to draw the bestest drawing, painting, or summat lik'att of my character, The Cloudmaker. You'll find him in this YouTube-video.

The winner will be announced on Christmas Day and will receive a year's subscription! ;)

Ingo out.

PS! Anyone know how I can change the top icon there to my own? Blargh....
Just a very quick journal from my part... I'm sure by now all of you know of the tragedy that has befallen Norway...

I just want to say this:

When things like this happen it puts things into perspective... What is a sore head, ripped artwork, the stress over not knowing what to do with one's life when something like this happens? Won't hate breed more hate?

I'd like to believe that if anything, we should all try to put any differences aside and show this monster that the we will prevail... I know it sounds idealistic, but that's what I believe... but to do so in real life will be harder than just thinking about it, and I've done a lot of thinking lately.

It is now that people need eachother the most, and in times like these people need to laugh, to experience "togetherness", to use a word Cleveland from Family Guy introduced me to. Two days of sorrow, anger, frustration and confusion have gone by... no matter how much people have cried, they won't ever cry enough. In the midst of all this sorrow people are so desperate to laugh, to try to keep on living. Now more than ever do they need to come together, to be with one another...

I'm more certain now that ever that to make people around me feel good, be that through art, or stand-up. I'll do as hard as I can, to make people around me simply be "more", by being warm and kind, and show them that we will never forget.

As I wrote on my Facebook page two days ago: All it took was one person. One person, enveloped in the fear he felt, to end the innocence that has graced Norway... Now, in our most weakened state, is when we need to show just how strong we are.

Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist. Nothing matters. Now is the time for standing together! We will not let ourselves break! We will defy all he stood for, all he feared and we will show him that we are strong!
YAY!

So I sat here, a bit bored, and suddenly started singing whilst listening to "Luka" by Suzanne Vega.

Click the link and enjoy the spectacle. :D

I'm desperate for comments, both here and on YouTube! Let me know what you think. :D

Ingo, over and out. :D
YAY!

Good news for a change! ;)

A couple of my drawings, LARPs vs. Axe men and two more, will be published! Huzza! I'm so happy!

I didn't win the front cover though, but three of my drawings will be featured in the magazine as comics related to the article next to it. Ain't that great?

Stand-up, stand-down... Or... JUMP!

I've also been asked to do some stand-up on the 1st of March, amongst a bunch of very talented comedians! I can't wait! Of course, I need to brush up on my material, and write some more. I didn't quite like the way it went the last time though people did laugh. I just wanted them to laugh more. My solution: be crazier and do more impressions. ;)

Du hast mich!

And I met Rammstein yesterday! YAY? YAY!!! Honestly. I'm not a fan, really. They held a concert here in Oslo yesterday and a friend of mine was at a signing, and I figured I might as well get their autographs... Though, me being me, I'm not going to keep it myself. I'm going to give it to another friend of mine who was at school at the time of the signing. YAY! It's good to be a good friend. ;)
Just a short journal entry this time around...

Yeah, Valentine's has been and gone, and I'm none the wiser. I have never received a card... I've only given one card, ever, and now I cannot remember to whom it was!

Anyway, not that Valentine's matters. I've never celebrated it. Honestly, I think it's a load of bull, but still... It makes me miss things... It makes me miss someone to share aspects of my life with.

Right now I am missing one person in particular.... and I don't like missing. It makes me sad, impatient, miscontent, non-creative, and miserable.

Though missing this person has nothing to do with Valentine's Day... I met them a couple of months ago, and just recently discovered I've had a crush on them ever since. It's torture.

Why would people ever want to fall in love?

Well... I'm not really complaining. Not really. I mean, when I consider the alternative I'm actually happy about it. I mean, it's good to fall asleep to the thought that out there this one person just might be thinking of me too...
*nurdgazm*

In all honesty, I don't watch an awful lot of Futurama (though I love it... I just don't watch an awful lot of TV), but whilst flicking throught the channels yesterday, as one does, I stumbled accross one of the few episodes featuring The Planet Express Ship.

I wasn't too sure at first, but I thought the voice, smooth yet firm as it was, was incredibly familiar. I thought it sounded like Sigourney Weaver.

Two minutes later, my suspicons confirmed, I was having one of nerdiest moments of my life.

As some of you might know, Sigourney also voiced the computer in Wall-E, and will be voicing the "deathmatch"-voice in the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator game. Isn't that just like the coolest thing or what!?

No? Well, let me tell you why it's so cool:

Sigourney is by all means and methods playing "Mother" (of course, I'm talking symbolically and not literally). Still confused? "Mother" is the name of the computer that runs the "Nostromo", and who, though not evil nor does she seem to possess any independant thought, is not exactly a sympathetic character in the very first of the aliens-films.

It all just makes me dig Sigourney all the more, and makes me concerned for my own mental health.

Is it really normal to geek out over such things?

Ingo out.

PS! Today is the 20th anniversary of Nelson Mandela's release! Hurray! And my "name-day" - a day in honour of my name. :D
  • Reading: The Art of Seduction ;P
Yesh, I'm still alive! As if you didn't notice! HAH!

A lot has happened sine my last journal, which was almost a year ago. I'm not even going to try to summarize everything in this journal, but I will give you a couple of pointers:

- I attended Norway's Got Talent (more about that further down)
- I've moved house! YAY!
- I've been to Ireland, yet again, but this time my sister and I travelled together.
- I've dubbed a few more movies
- I've started doing stand-up
- I've had my heart broken (as you do)
- I've recuperated from a broken heart
- I've decided not to fall in love (fat chance!)
- I've decided I am actually a good person
- I've been neglected by friends (<sarcasm> they obviously cared for me! </sarcasm>)
- I've lost a dear friend and relative...
- I've lost my grandfather...
- I've had a year of sorrow on my shoulders...

...and that's not even half of it.

Be strong my heart, for I am weary...

I've had a tough year, to say the least, and it's hard to talk about it. During the summer of 2009 I lost a dear cousin of mine. He was only 24 at the time, the same age as I was, and so full of love for life. His name was John and he died of cystic fibrosis.

Living in Norway I never knew John the way my Irish cousins did, but we shared the same blood... It's really strange that despite only meeting with my Irish family for a couple of weeks every year we all share such strong bond, and we love eachother so.

I know I'm not doing John's memory any justice in writing this - he deserves so much more - but I guess I'm finally ready to share this with you... I don't know how I can honour John but remember him...

A pillar of support... gone

Later that summer one my grandfather passed away. Long suffering the effects of Alzheimers, he quietly passed away after complications due to pnemonia. I cannot tell you how much I miss him.

My grandfather, Kjell Gran, of simply "farfar" (Norwegian for farther's father), had always been there for me. My siblings and I were fortunate enough to have the luxury of growing up next to our grandparents. We saw them every day, and basked in their attention... Now my grandmother sits alone in her big house, because farfar is resting.

Everybody needs good neighbors...

Shortly after farfar my neighbor passed away due to old age. He was a kind, gentle man who found rest at the age of 92. I remember how his face lit up when my siblings and I would bring him Christmas biscuits after he became a widow and how he every day would tend to his garden.

Sadly, these are not the only people that I know who have left this earth the past year, and I mourn them all... but these are the people who's memories I shall always cherrish. These are the people who's absence doesn't leave a hole in my heart, but whose memories make me warmer inside.

Happy time... yesh?

Anyways! Enough sadness... Consider yourself updated in the wonderful life of MisterIngo. As I said I've attended Norway' Got Talent, and I'm not going to tell you more than I want to. HAH!

After a very rewarding audition I got through to the semifinales, though there everybody had an opinions on what they wanted me to do. My segment was crammed full with bits and bobs of things I really didn't want to do, and then the sound-guys managed to screw up my sound for 23 seconds...

Not really expecting it I got a call-back: I was one of the 8 wildcards!

But now, enough talk. Enjoy the videos instead. Ingo out...

People of dA!

Hear me roar!

Actually, that's not too far from the truth. In just under a month's time the good people of Norway will be hearing my voice in their local cinema.

The film I'm the most proud of being a part of is called Dragon Hunters and I'll be playing the little blue guy who sounds like Gollum, which is why I also got the part. In my opinion the Norwegian dub is way better than the english one, which stars Forrest Whitaker and Rob Paulsen... Why? I'm in it of course. :D

Take a look at the trailer here.

I've actually got three roles in that film, all of them noticable, in contrast to the other film I'm in. I've got LOADS of voices in it, but not any major ones though.

Norway's Got Talent!

Unbeknowest to most of you I guess, I'm in Norway's Got Talent. I don't know if I really need to say an awful lot about it really... just take a look at my audition. ;)

It was fun, and it's all very surreal for me. Comments on youtube are incredibly positive, and people send me messages on facebook as well, praising me.

It's all a bit weird and unreal.

More Joker

I've recently made another Joker-video. I think this version is superior to the other versions, so I hope you'll click it, watch it, rate it, and spread the word. ;)

How are you all?

I hope you are all doing well...

I have obviously shamed myself in not posting a journal in well over two months, nor any art worthy of mention, and I'm sorry to say that this journal won't probably be worth the pixels that it's composed of either.

Suffice to say, to keep you updated, life is grand. I celebrated Christmas in Ireland and had a great time, even though I was sick most of it. I had headaches and was sore in bodyparts I wasn't aware of existed. I'm still a little bit ill now these days, but hey, at least it's not anything lethal.

Joker says hello..

So, I've made yet another video, and I beg of you to watch it, leave a generous comment (as you all do), and spread the good word if you like it. You can have a look at me in make-up here.

YAY!

So I went cosplaying (again!) previous weekend, but this time I went as Joker.

I won. ;)

I'm the Joker on the right side og the photo, the only one wearing a wig.

Iggy the Iguana

So, I'm now a voice-actor. I know, I've mentioned this before, but hey, now that I've got a job as a voice-actor I might as well tell you what I'm doing.

I'm Iggy the Iguana in Animalia! Of course, the Norwegian version. Best of all - the show's already on tv! Three times a day! YAY!

Pageviews.

Almost up to 100,000 pageviews! WOW! Okay! You know what that means? Kiriban! YAY! So, the one who gets the screencap of 100,000 gets a kiriban of their choice.

Life in general

...has it's ups and down. I think I've managed to screw up something bigtime, but I won't know that in another week or so. I might never so I'll just have to assume.

Anyway, I passed my English oral exam (which I was too ill to take the first time) and I've succesfully passed every single subject I've taken in my 24 year long life. :D

Ingo over and out. :D

People of Eternia!!! I'm evil! Mohahahah! :evillaugh:

YAY! So I went cosplaying this weekend. YAY! At the great Desucon convention here in Oslo! YAY! And people LOVED me! YAY!

Of course, due to not having time to make myself a proper Joker-costume I went as Darth Sidious, my friend Kim-san went as Link and Grethe-B went as Meryl from the Metal Gear-series.

What started out as a major headache for me (I'd been out drinking the night before)ended up with me still as high as the night before, but this time due to the sheer enjoyment of the audience. I can't tell you how rewarding it was to have hundred of people laugh at my every word... so I'll let you watch.

My second appearance after quoting Darth Sidious in the second round of the contest.
My third appearance in the final round, before the "get to know the finalists"-query.
And then...

I didn't win though I received the title of both the audience's and the judges' favourite, which is a little bit weird... Shouldn't the judges' favourite by default be the winner? Anyway, I wasn't in it for winning... not after the third round. I was so thrilled because of the audience, I didn't need to win. ;)

School...

...is great! I love my class, though I'm drawing a lot more than what I used to do, I'm not getting anything done for you lot, my dear watchers... Pity. I've got some drawings scanned in, but seeing the subdued reaction towards my latest submission I'm starting to wonder if I should be bothered at all to post them.

Anyway! I'm doing well. Just to let you know. :D

MisterIngo, over and in. ;)

It's my party and I cry if I want to...

So YAY! I'm old today! Today I'm 24! Can you believe it!? Today I shall become old and must therefor act like old. No more funny stuffs from me... Riiight... I might be getting older physically, but I'll never grow up! Hurray!!!

Voice-acting!

Hurray! More good news! I am now officially a voice-actor! Hurray! YAY! *And the crowd goes wild!*

I can't exactly say what I'm working on, but if I ever find my voice on the net then I'll certainely post it here! I'm already on a straight to DVD title, and hopefully, if the people at NRK like me, then I might just be starring in a 40 episode long show! YAY!

I'm also a student at an art-school! Though I was hoping that I'd be more productive (and I am) I dare not put it on dA, for fear it is not good enough for my dear watchers!

YAY! Contest!

First of all, thank you so very much for entering, all of you! I've seen many a good entry, which made the whole process of selecting the "winners" so very, very hard. I say "winners" 'cos you're all winners in my eyes. The fact that you joined this contest proves to the world that you are made of "t3h win!1!" and people should worship the dirt on your shoes. ;)

I have decided to give away three prizes, but before you all cheer me up to the skies I'll shoot you down now by saying that we've got two runner-ups who will be getting the same prizes. ;)

So first!

Honourable mentions:

:thumb94986671: by FyberGlass is a funny, crazy deviation which deserves an honourable mention simply because of the link in the description! I sincerely hope that the youtube video will not be deleted, as I think it's very funny! Here here! :ahoy:

Bunnies can't give the finger by WinatikaTheJawa by WinatikaTheJawa is also a great entry! Bunnies can't give the finger, but why? Maybe because the lack a middle finger, or are they simply too stupid? The mystery might never be solved! Simple, yet very funny! Excellent! The Bunneh Plot thickens and in a great way too!

Runner-ups!

Runner-ups both receive a copy of the EXCELLENT Neil Gaiman book "American Gods" each. Each winner must supply their address to MisterIngo. All information given to MisterIngo is of course confidential, and will only be used this one time to give the winners their prize.

Bunnies Don't Leave Survivors by Trivia-Master
by Trivia-Master is a simple, yet excellent entry by a very humourous deviant! As another judge said: This is drawn in such a way that the joke gets even better. It had me in stiches! Hurray for Bunnies!

Bunnies Don't Do Opera by silverwolf05 by silverwolf05 is yet another excellent entry! The little details in this had me giggle out loud as I discovered the various situations the rabbids were not able to cope with, or simply did wrong!

And teh winnar iz:*drumroll*

Bunnies Can't Be So Serious by WanderinShadow by WanderinShadow!!!

What's scarier than Heath Ledger's Joker? A Raving Rabbid Joker! As the judges say: "Even though the concept was done before, it's still funny and the artwork itself well drawn" and "both easy to understand and funny with great design/layout and idea".

Note me your address with details on which Raving Rabbid game you want and your address and I'll be right on it.

Hurray! Now go forth and fav, young deviants!

Hello good people of dA!

Inspired by my recent fit, I'm currently re-working "The Dork Knight". The thing is, I don't know what to do. Should I upload it as a new deviation, and perhaps, if I be so lucky, have a new chance at a DTF (Daily Top Favourite)? Or should I update the old one, seeing as this one is clearly superior and much more like what I had originally envisioned?

What say you? I give you... the preview:

Compared to the original:

I'm also a little bit unsure as to whether or not I should include the text (the scream of the bunny) in the new one, as I think it perhaps expresses it perfectly without stating the obvious?

What say you Oh Devine Watchers of Mine?

OH! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY dA!

The Dark Knight

YAY!

What can I say? It is a truly wonderful film! You must all go and see!

Okay, it was a little bit different than what I had imagined. Being that Batman-fan (but alas, I cannot claim that I am a geek) that I am, I have of course read most of the famous comics, and it is fair to say that The Dark Knight differs from all of them.

Anyway, I can't say anything more. If you liked the first movie, you must go and see this one!

Work, work...

I've been working quite a lot recently. In two weeks I've only had one day off. It's not so bad, but in 30 degrees Centigrade it does get a little bit exhausting.

Contest...

:boing:Theme: Raving Rabbids Do and Don't, Can and Can't!

So in celebration of myself, and my gallery, (lol! Nah, in celebration of you lot, my devout watchers!) I'm going to host another competition. Draw a Raving Rabbid in a humourous setting, depicting what a rabbid can do, or can't, what they do or don't do. Details are as follows:

:boing:Artwork: You can submit paintings, drawings, digital or traditional, FLASH animations and emotes.
*You can only submit new works of art, created for this contest.
*You can submit up to three entries which can be updated throughout the contest until closing date.

:boing:Prizes:
*Winner gets a copy of Rayman Raving Rabbids 1 or Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, for either Wii, Xbox360 or PS2.
*Runner-up will receive the excellent book "American Gods" by Neil Gaiman. Prizes are not exchangable.

Note: You may enter for the prize, or for fun. I will not supply any other prize than what is already listed, due to the fact that this all comes out of my own wallet. If already own one of the prizes, why not give it as a gift to someone else if you win?

:boing:Closing date is the 31st of August so that will give you plenty of time for a submission!

:boing:Announcement of winner will take place on the 20th of September

:boing:Judges: SigurdHosenfeld, Grethe--B and MisterIngo
Judges' decisions are final.

:boing:How to enter: Send me a note with a link to your deviation. You may start submitting the 1st of July. I will keep as many entries as I can posted in my journal. You must be willing and able to supply your address to claim a prize (prizes will be sent by regular mail.). All addresses/e-mails/notes/contact information will be kept confidential.

:boing:Suggestions and notes:

*Humour is the most important aspect of this contest.
*Coloured entries are more favourable.
*Work should not be rushed or sketchy.
*Parodies of well-known works, films, situations are of course accepted, but must be referenced (linked!) so that the judges will know where you've gotten your inspiration from.
*Take a look in my and the judges' galleries and favs to see what we like.

Hello people of ten net!

Just a little journal to let you know that I'm still here. Exhausted, but still here. Work, great as always, has been very, very busy. I can honestly say that I've never experienced it to be so busy! Tourists seem to love the museum in which I work, which is ace! YAY!

Super Smash Bros.: Brawl!

Is really, really AWESOME! I'm sorry for being so cliché about it, but that's the truth. I've already expanded my repetoire of favourite characters from Melee. I used to love Link, Pikachu and Bowser, but now it would seem that Link will have to step aside for Ike, my Marth-killer. Samus is better than ever, more balanced. Though I loved playing with her, she was a little bit too weak for me I think. They've done a great job with her now!

Now that I've kept you waiting long enough I'm going to share with you my Smash Bros code:

3824 0245 4983

Add me, and then note me with yours.

Hello everybody! I'm back!

So where have I been? I've been to Ireland, the green ilse! I've spent the past two weeks with family, thoroughly enjoying myself, though being lazy. ;)

Anyway! The most important aspect of this journal entry is the fact that I'm hosting a competition! YAY! So, I would of course like as many as possible to join! Take a look down below and read the rules. If you can't join, why don't you tell someone who can? The more the merrier! I might even throw in a special prize... Hmm... Okay!

If I get more than 30 entries I'll put in an extra prize for both the first place winner and the runner-up! YAY!

Judges, spread the word!

About a Bear... and Sean Connery

:new:Sean Connery...

A friend of mine edited a clip of me impersonating Sean Connery. I think you should all watch it! I didn't think it was me the first time I heard it! lol!

MisterIngo as Sean Connery

Bearing story...

Just written a comment in response to zikes' journal... Thought I'd share it here.

Should anyone feel inspired, I'd love to see this as a comic, or a singular drawing. Perhaps, maybe, I'll do something weird for you, as a thank-you-gesture.

"About a Bear"

I wanted some salmon here the other day, and just as I had spotted the salmon I wanted, one beautiful specimen, and was about to jump into the river and grab it with my teeth a BEAR pondered by. I was completely taken aback! Appartently the bear was a little bit confused as to what time it was - his pocketwatch was broken. He didn't know if it were spring, coming into summer, or autumn, just leaving summer behind.

I politely told him that it was indeed spring, and suggested to him that he should get a new walking cane, as the ebony handle of the one that he already had was cracked.

He smiled and laughed, gave me a pat on the back, causing me almost to topple over, before he guawfed a bit more, thanked me and walked on...
