Ai haz nurdgazm!

In all honesty, I don't watch an awful lot of Futurama (though I love it... I just don't watch an awful lot of TV), but whilst flicking throught the channels yesterday, as one does, I stumbled accross one of the few episodes featuring The Planet Express Ship.

I wasn't too sure at first, but I thought the voice, smooth yet firm as it was, was incredibly familiar. I thought it sounded like Sigourney Weaver.

Two minutes later, my suspicons confirmed, I was having one of nerdiest moments of my life.

As some of you might know, Sigourney also voiced the computer in Wall-E, and will be voicing the "deathmatch"-voice in the upcoming Aliens vs. Predator game. Isn't that just like the coolest thing or what!?

No? Well, let me tell you why it's so cool:

Sigourney is by all means and methods playing "Mother" (of course, I'm talking symbolically and not literally). Still confused? "Mother" is the name of the computer that runs the "Nostromo", and who, though not evil nor does she seem to possess any independant thought, is not exactly a sympathetic character in the very first of the aliens-films.

It all just makes me dig Sigourney all the more, and makes me concerned for my own mental health.

Is it really normal to geek out over such things?
